“One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people.”

Exodus 2:11
We hear that timing is everything. Moses was saved as a baby. He was adopted by Pharaoh’s daughter so he could grow to be strong and wise. God was preparing Moses to deliver the Israelites. When Moses saw the injustice which was inflicted upon the Israelites, he took the lead and stepped in to deliver them. But God’s way was not murder, and God’s timing was not immediate deliverance. Moses didn’t expect a 40-year time-out in the desert, but this was exactly what God used to mold him into the humble leader necessary for delivering His people from Pharaoh (Numbers 12:3).
There was a time when I had great expectations in parenting. I intended to raise our sons to be soldiers for God’s kingdom, and I wanted to do it my way. The Lord gave me a desert time-out that broke me and ultimately built me up to know and trust Him even more.
Our God is faithful to fulfill His calling in ways we do not imagine. Trust Him with your life, even when it means delayed or altered plans. He is faithfully preparing you in His perfect timing.
